We’re so excited this week because it’s December and we’ve officially entered the silly season! That means Christmas time is approaching and, yep, it’s time to get your orders in for ham, turkey, pork roasts and a range of other items to suit the festive season. We’ve done more than our fair share of sausage styles over the years but one of the mainstays in our display cabinet is our continental sausage. It’s made from a mix of lamb and beef, with plenty of garlic, paprika and some other spices – and it’s one of the tastiest snags we’ve ever made. Earlier this year it was awarded a Bronze Medal in the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show’s ‘gourmet sausage’ category. Our Northern Greek loukaniko has become our signature smoked pork sausage. It’s based on an old family recipe that’s been slightly tweaked to further balance the flavours. We were pretty excited when it won a Gold Medal in the smallgoods category of the Australian Food Awards 2017. Our award-winning smoked ham! We knew we’d got it right when customers from the other end of Sydney told us they travel all the way to Dulwich Hill just for our ham! It was recently awarded a Silver Medal at the Australian Fine Food Awards. Made from Tallabung and Crack Willow pork, this is the product of some hard work from George in “The Engine Room” out the back of our shop. We are delighted to announce that Dulwich Hill Gourmet Meats is now stocking pasture-raised pork from @crackwillowfarm! Run by Chris and Bernice Kelly, the Crack Willow pig farm is based in Oberon, on NSW’s Central Tablelands. These guys recently won a 2017 @deliciousaus magazine Produce Award. All of their pigs are pasture-raised, which means they live entirely outdoors and roam paddocks with sun on their backs – as nature intended.
